Promotional & Marketing Strategy
The franchisor drives brand awareness to feed high-intent leads to local territories:
National Initiatives (Franchisor): Centralized digital ad spend (Google, Meta), targeted PR campaigns, podcast distribution, and management of the core New Zealand digital platform.
Local Initiatives (Franchisee): B2B networking within local business chambers, community open days, and hyper-local search engine optimization (SEO) backed by franchisor assets.
Financial Architecture: Royalties & Shared Marketing Funds
To create a sustainable, scalable business model, we recommend a percentage-of-turnover model.
This model aligns your corporate success directly with the performance for your franchisees.
Fee Type Rate / Structure Payment Method Purpose & Allocation
Ongoing Royalty Fee 6% of Gross Sales Automated weekly direct debit Funds ongoing business coaching, system-wide software tools, operational refinement, and your primary franchisor margin.
National Marketing Levy 2% of Gross Sales Automated weekly direct debit Kept in a dedicated, ring-fenced promotional fund used purely to buy regional/national media that benefits all territories.
Note: In accordance with New Zealand tax laws, all franchise fees, ongoing royalties, and marketing contributions are subject to 15% GST and are treated as assessable income for the franchisor entity.
Financial Architecture: Royalties & Digital Revenue
Because your business model mixes physical brick-and-mortar sales with digital cloud-based products (App & Courses), a standard flat royalty doesn't work.
To keep your franchisees motivated while protecting your digital intellectual property, we will implement a split-royalty financial architecture:
Revenue Category Franchisee Keeps Franchisor Share (Royalty) Collection & Payout Mechanism
In-Store Sales (Tea, Salads, Wellness Room access)94% 6%. Franchisee collects directly via local POS. Franchisor direct-debits the 6% royalty weekly.
Digital Sales (App Subs, Course OA, E-commerce)30% 70%Franchisor collects 100% centrally via the app store/web portal. Franchisor pays a 30% geo-targeted commission back to the local franchisee based on the user's postcode.
Why this works: It incentives local franchisees to aggressively promote your App and Course OA to their local walk-in customers. They earn a passive 30% cut, while you retain 70% to cover cloud hosting, app updates, and course production costs.
Promotional, Pricing & Delivery Strategy
To give you a visual look at how these diverse product lines operate, this model breaks down your pricing tiers and localized marketing hooks:
